Front Passenger Side Seat Belt Warning Light Malfunction
|
DESCRIPTION
The meter ECU detects the state of the front seat inner belt RH when the front passenger side seat is occupied with the ignition switch ON. If the front passenger side seat belt is not fastened, the front passenger side seat belt warning light on the integration control and panel blinks. If the seat belt is fastened, the warning light goes off.

INSPECT FUSE (ECU-IG No. 1)

(a) Remove the ECU-IG No. 1 fuse from the main body ECU.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT WARNING LIGHT)

(a) Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select Active Test.

(a) Temporarily replace the front seat inner belt RH with a new or normally functioning one

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL - COMBINATION METER AND BATTERY)

(a) Disconnect the H45 panel connector.
|
(b) Disconnect the H37 meter connector.
(c) Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

INSPECT INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL ASSEMBLY
|
|
(a) Remove the integration control and panel
.

(b) Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 16 (IG+), and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 14 (PBEW).
(c) Check that the front passenger side seat belt warning light comes on.
OK:
Front passenger side seat belt warning light (for passenger side) comes on.
